Participants check in at the construction site, decide whether site access requirements and PPE rules have been met, assess statements on DGUV Regulation 1 and classify misconduct as negligence, gross negligence or intent. While exploring the crane area, heavy machinery area, mobile elevating work platform, excavation, scaffolding, shell construction, assembly point and site cabins, they identify hazards, assess safeguards and install a missing intermediate rail.

Course Description
The On-Site Offering – Basic Construction Site Safety Training guides participants through typical construction-site environments and hazards: site access and route management, hazard areas, order and cleanliness, personal protective equipment, fire safety and first aid. Realistic situations show how quickly open barriers, blocked escape routes, unsuitable PPE, hot work or unclear emergency procedures can put people at risk. The training supplements the company’s annual in-house instruction; statutory requirements and the rules of your company remain decisive.
Participants explore the construction site, inspect zones and work equipment, make decisions in quiz formats, remedy selected defects, coordinate alarm and emergency situations and apply protective measures in practice. Nine individually repeatable modules, a final test and handouts for each module support knowledge transfer. This helps your company strengthen awareness, confidence in action and a shared safety culture across the team.
Target Audience
The training is designed for employees and other people working on construction sites who move within site areas, use work equipment and PPE, identify defects or need to act correctly in alarm and emergency situations.
Course Content
Participants check when they are permitted to enter a construction site, which instruction and registration requirements apply, and which duties arise from DGUV Regulation 1 and other rules. They assess negligence, gross negligence and intent and classify typical hazard areas.
Participants move along official pedestrian routes, respect barriers and distinguish the responsibilities of safety representatives, first aiders, the health and safety coordinator, employers, employees, occupational safety specialists and site management. They report defects, secure acute hazards and stop unsafe situations.
Participants clear assembly points, traffic routes, escape routes and emergency exits, set up storage areas and observe specified minimum distances. They inspect lighting, identify trip hazards and secure materials against rolling away.
Participants select standard PPE and supplementary PPE to suit the task, assess its protective effect and identify missing equipment during abrasive cutting, drilling, surveying, work at open edges and vehicle marshalling. They inspect PPE for damage and initiate the correct steps when defects are found.
Participants follow marked escape routes in the event of an alarm, go to the assembly point and identify typical evacuation errors. They assess fire risks, choose protective measures for hot work and examine ways to prevent arson.
Participants secure accident scenes, protect themselves, apply the rescue chain and locate the first-aid kit, AED and first-aider overview. They treat a minor injury, document first-aid measures and coordinate the emergency call, qualified personnel, first aiders and emergency services following an electrical accident.

Routes, Roles and Handling Defects
Participants walk the official pedestrian route, avoid shortcuts and clarify the responsibilities of key roles on the construction site. During an inspection, they assess open barriers, trip hazards, missing PPE, materials on routes and a defective ladder. They decide when a defect must be reported, remedied by authorised and competent persons, or addressed by stopping work and securing the area in the event of an acute hazard.

Order and Cleanliness
Participants clear a blocked assembly point and obstructed access points to the shell construction, inspect the lighting and identify measures to prevent trips, slips and falls. They then set up storage areas, select safe positions, maintain the specified distances from the site fence, exit road and between materials, and secure cable and hose reels against rolling away.
Lesson 4
Fundamentals of Personal Protective Equipment
Participants distinguish between standard PPE and supplementary PPE, select the required equipment at the locker and enter the work area fully equipped. In realistic scenarios, they assess the protective effect of helmets, safety footwear, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing and protective gloves and match the equipment to the relevant hazards.

Using and Inspecting Personal Protective Equipment Correctly
Participants find five work situations and select the missing PPE for abrasive cutting, surveying, work at open edges, drilling and securing the construction-site entrance. They distinguish duties relating to the provision and use of PPE, inspect safety glasses, protective gloves, safety footwear and helmets for damage, and remove defective PPE from use.

Fire Safety – What to Do in the Event of an Alarm
Participants inspect escape routes and the assembly point for obstacles, respond to an alarm and follow the marked escape route. At the assembly point, they make decisions about remaining in the safe area, retrieving valuables, smoking restrictions and keeping routes clear. They then identify evacuation errors and assign the duties of the assembly point coordinator, fire safety assistant and fire watch.

Fire Safety – Preventing Fire Risks
Participants identify fire risks during hot work, remove or cover combustible materials and assess the duties of a fire watch during and after the task. They consider the hot-work permit and review measures to prevent arson, including maintaining distance between combustible materials and the site fence, using privacy screening and video surveillance.
Lesson 8
First Aid – Fundamentals and Equipment
Participants review the principles for finding an injured person, arrange the rescue chain in the correct order and locate the first-aid kit, automated external defibrillator and overview of available first aiders. They explore key contents of the first-aid kit and decide which aid is appropriate in different situations.
Lesson 9
First Aid – Acting Correctly in Emergency Situations
Participants respond to a ladder fall, assess the situation, speak to the injured person, treat a minor injury and document the first-aid measure. In an electrical-accident scenario, they protect themselves, identify unsafe conditions, coordinate the emergency call, a qualified electrician and first aiders, and provide clear information to the emergency services.

Comprehension Check
After completing the nine modules, participants check their knowledge in a final test. The documents do not specify the duration, pass mark, number of attempts or any certificate or proof of completion.
